YourGarageOnline.com - Amazing
humor, Awesome, Web 2.0, Will never make money August 24th, 2007ly stupid!!!

YourGarageOnline.com made me smile today. It’s an entire site dedicated to storing your cars’ repair information. Many of us can barely file our repair receipts into a folder consistently. This site is hoping that instead of throwing your receipts in a folder, you’ll instead type all the information from your receipt into a website! hehe.
Even if there were more than seven people willing to do so, why not just put it in an excel doc? I wish I could see their business plan financials.I created a new category: humor.

Personlly, I think it is a great idea. As a developer I have had something like this in my queue for a while, but have never got around to it.
An excel spreadsheet? Let me guess, your idea of an enterprise application is MS Access?
I don’t think they plan on making any money on it. It is an example of what can be done quickly using the correct web application designs and technologies.

That’s the whole point! You don’t need an enterprise application to keep track of your Midas receipts. Actually, you shouldn’t need specialized tools to keep track of different kinds of receipts. Everything, in the end, is either income or an expense. There’s online banking, and credit card servicing sites for that already.

I found this web application to be really useful. There is no charge to it. I suspect the developer put this up to get folks hooked and will add more features later. I could really dig an app that would remind me to get an oil change with an e-mail or send me a yearly summary of the work I’ve had done. I’d love to be able to hand a printout to a dealer when I trade my car in with all the maintenance information.
I understand you don’t understand it, but the review seems a bit harsh.
