PatentMonkey lets you pay for what you can have for free
Other May 19th, 2007A common trend in sucky startups is making people pay for services that you can get for free elsewhere. This was also the problem with Keyfiler. PatentMonkey is a service that lets you search through US patents. They offer payed memberships that let you purchase PDF downloads and more features.
What I wanna know is, why would you pay for PatentMonkey when you can use Google Patents for free? Google Patents offer free PDF downloads and supports pictures too. Of course it’s free and since it’s google it automatically out-ranks PatentMonkey reputation-wise.

Quick reply, we’ve always had free search, free single downloads of patent PDFs and free creation of patent lists as folders to share with others (free registration required for the last one). To clarify, paid memberships come in if you’d like to zip download up to 100 PDFs at once.
Give a free search a try from the home page. We offer a host of features and anyone interested can contact us with suggestions. Always interested in feedback.
