Why Twitter Sucks

Why does everybody LOVE twitter?! Give me a break! I’ve finally found somebody (James Thomas) at CenterNetworks, who hates twitter as much as me. His article goes on to talk about an alternative, Corel Wordperfect Lightning, but that’s not what I want to talk about.
The Reasons I Hate Twitter:
- I don’t give a crap about what other people are doing. If you’re bored enough to go on twitter, then why would I care about your boring life?
- Every other 2 posts are in another language. I don’t know what language it is, but I do know that 99% of the time I can’t read 65% of the text on Twitter.
- The Cutesy layout. The layout is all “bubbly” and light-blue and it just makes me sick. If I didn’t know any better I would think I was signing up for Hello Kitty Online!
- I can make it. This has got to be the simplest startup to write. I can do this in a day in PHP and MySQL.
I know Twitter isn’t anything new, but James’ article rekindled my hatred for Twitter once again and I had to share it.

Hmm … I should do a better job of marketing my site
I had a less-angry version of the same thing back in March ( http://www.j2fi.net/2007/03/06/another-short-lived-fad/).
That said, I haven’t seen any valid use for Twitter, either. But then, I don’t see a valid use for half the stuff online that seems to be trendy.

Wondering why you are using a blog as your CMS instead of pligg like KillerStartups uses. Any reason?

I found Twitter more than a year ago when I had a similar idea to it. I would have been glad if it had actually been done as I would have liked it. But, NO!, they needed to make it *social*… that screwed the whole thing.

I’m an artist and I haven’t been satisfied using twitter or myspace to promote myself… too slow and too much junk. I’ll give putiton a try… it looks clean

Im rather unhappy with twitter myself, I have 5 tickets in now (over the course of the last 3 weeks) to recover my desired user name and vanity url that has been inactive for a year now. They aren’t doing sh*t about it. I am about to say f*ck twitter myself and just look forward to the facebook vanity URL landrush which is coming soon.. make sure u get your name then because facebook(rank 4) ranks higher than twitter(rank 11) and myspace(9)

There are ton of reasons why Twitter sucks, but here is my favorite. Blogs can allow you to post more than 140 characters, and usually have an RSS feed to allow whomever to follow you. If you are interested in me, just follow my blog, not me here, there, here, and there. Oh wait fon’t forget to follow me on facebook……Joy.

I hate twitter too…. its foolish… really people always talk about it as if its some sort of amazing piece of technology! first of all I don’t want to hear about your life…or what your doing… if others do then what ever they obviously don’t know how to ask…secondly whats so damn innovative about this? its practically a miniblog for people with ego problems that want everyone to know what there doing

Internet rules because it allows us to publish our interests and imagination for others to learn, share and grow towards a greater objective. It actually takes time to make a good compilation out of your brainstorm and res-dev sessions. When you post it on the net, you can be proud of your work. Everybody can read or see all the energy you put into it.
But twitter… twit twit 5hit
Lets get back on track and stop that internet crack.
