The mapmyname project is website in which users of the internet may type in their name and where they live, and they are plotted on a map. While this may sound stupid at first, it is actually pointless as well. Like a.placebetween.us, Google Maps takes up 99999.99% of the page- the only page. Their blog only shows one post on the frontpage, and it’s still running on the default wordpress theme. The idea is pointless, the community is non-existent, and it was probably written from a Google Maps API tutorial.

Atleast a.placebetween.us offered a service that some people would find useful.
