Keyfiler is now Free!
News May 18th, 2007Thanks to our last review of Keyfiler.com, they saw their faults and decided to make the service free for everyone. While this doesn’t change my mind about the service itself, I still respect their changes. It takes a smart startup to realize that they’re on the wrong track and attempt to fix it.
It’s been 2 days since the blog has been up and we’ve already helped one startup with finding their way towards a better business model. The owners of Keyfiler had to say this:
We made Keyfiler free.
Cause we could.
We built that thing like 3+ years ago. It uses tables. It’s done with like PHP4.
But hey, now it’s free. Enjoy!

Quick note, we’re not a startup. Keyfiler isn’t our product, really. It was a fun tool we did back in 2004 that we threw up for our own use, and never bothered with thereafter. It solved our problem, so there was no real need to update or promote it.
We do other things for money. This was just a bit of fun.
